Aquaflight Airways, Cairns

Flightseeing and charter.

Sorry, don't have their contact details to hand, you'll have to try the phone book (but at least the Oz yellow pages are online, somewhere). They're easy to find, operating from a jetty near the town centre. Their standard trip is a flight to Green Island and back again a couple of hours later. Green Island itself is not particularly interesting but at least you get two take-offs and landings by taking this trip. The long version of this trip involves flying over some coral reefs; you get more flying time this way but you would probably get a better look at the coral and wildlife from a boat.

If you're particularly keen to ride in the Beaver (or, indeed, the Otter) make this clear at the time of booking and again when checking in, as most of their punters don't care which plane they ride in, so they normally use whichever plane is most profitable given the number of punters who have shown up by departure time.

It's a boat ride to the beach at Green Island.

Big Brother - Aquaflight Airways also have this Otter, which is an extremely well-presented aircraft. The cabin interior looks much more like an airliner than a bush plane! No, I don't know why there is a dragon hiding behind it.
