47-51 Bryanston Street, London W1, Tel: 020 7262 4313 - see "How to get there".
Standard Italian menu at reasonable prices.
So why do we bother listing it? Well, there aren't that many places in London, let alone just off Park Lane, where you can get a decent meal for a sane price. And which is still there on your next visit to London, five years later. So we think this one is worth noting.
Oh, the other thing is that they tolerate children, although you might get put at the opposite end of the room from the expense account suits. (Yes I have also been there on expenses wearing a suit. That was in connection with the launch of the Sinclair QL. Thanks, Clive.) Once a waitress was provided to carry our screaming baby (Elizabeth) up and down while we ate our meal - the only place we have been offered this service in England!
Personally I prefer to go to London only when someone pays me to, and I then like to leave as soon as possible.
However, if you find yourself in London and looking for a meal, you find this place by walking up the A5 (I think it's called Edgware Road at that point) from Marble Arch, take the first on the right, then the Boscaiolo is the first Italian restaurant on the right.
In London? Leave as soon as possible. The nearest main line station is Paddington, and there are many trains each hour to more civilised parts of the country.
Our most recent visit cost GBP 52.80 for two adults and several children (some borrowed) but I can't remember how much of that was drink.
